Shoppers urged to 'stop using' popular QVC beauty product amid 'liquid glass' risk

Batches of a popular QVC beauty product are now being recalled due to concerns they may cause injuries. Customers are advised to check if their items are affected and to stop using them right away. The product warning specifically relates to certain '2x14x2ml' sets of ' M.Asam VITAMIN C Glow Ampullen ' sold by the online retailer, which is also well known as a TV shopping channel . A small quantity of liquid glass material was found in the affected face serums, posing a risk of skin injuries upon contact. An alert published by the Government's Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) explains: "The product presents a risk of injuries as a small drop of liquid glass material was discovered in the affected batches. "During normal use, the glass could come into contact with the user’s skin whilst using the serum, causing minor injuries and cuts. The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009." Crucially, this recall exclusively impacts serums with a batch code of '078CF0110' and a barcode of '4049639455177'. Affected products were also produced in Germany. The OPSS alert continues: "The product has been recalled from end users. Owners are advised to stop using the product immediately and contact the place of purchase for redress." In other news, the OPSS issued another product recall concerning certain 'Bubble Up, Mermaid You Look' bathbombs sold by One Beyond earlier in October. The office warned that products with a batch code of '2026103' present a 'serious chemical risk' because they contain a prohibited ingredient. The alert reads: "The product presents a serious chemical risk as it contains butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA), which is prohibited in cosmetic products. "BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child and may cause skin sensitisation. The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 or the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013." Impacted items display a barcode of '5013692253406' and were sold between July 2025 and September 2025. Anyone who purchased one is advised to return it to their nearest One Beyond store for a full refund. For further information, you can contact the importer, Corsair Toiletries Ltd, on 01727 874698, or access One Beyond's recall here . A message from One Beyond adds: "If y ou have purchased this product, do not use it. "Customers who have bought these products with the listed batch codes are asked to return them to their nearest One Beyond store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation."
