Shopper discovers £2 celeb merchandise in charity shop then finds out true value

A man has shared his shock after stumbling upon an unexpected treasure at a charity shop while browsing for a bit of fun. He recounted his experience of popping into a local Goodwill store, not anticipating finding anything noteworthy. Yet, to his astonishment, the shopper discovered a signed action figure of the American comedian and actor Gabriel Iglesias being sold for a mere $2.99 (£2.22). Sharing his find on Reddit, he posted: “Found a signed Gabriel Iglesias action figure at Goodwill and he confirmed it was his signature on Twitter .” Iglesias himself responded to the post, confirming: “Yes, I only made 1,000 of those and you found one for $2.99 at Goodwill. It’s humbling.” The same autographed action figure is listed on eBay for $79.99 (£59.37), which could net him a substantial profit should he choose to sell the collectable item. Reacting to his Reddit post, one user exclaimed: “Nice! I got a different one signed by him and someone else at a concert a few years ago, unsure who actually signed this one.” Another chimed in with curiosity: “I wonder if the original owner of the action figure meant to donate it or if their spouse/relative gave it away without asking.” A third contributor praised the comedian: “Fluffy is a very humbling person. He’s a funny man. He has his own entertainment company that supports local comedians and has appeared on a few films. Congrats on a great find.” An additional comment highlighted Iglesias’s fame: “I’m surprised more people don’t know who Gabriel Iglesias is, he’s a big comedian.” Another user weighed in, saying: “I hope he doesn’t feel too bad about it being at goodwill. Maybe the original owner died.” Someone else contributed: “Those were sold at his shows back in like 2013. If you bought one, you got to hang around after the show and get a picture with him.” One person reminisced, “Bought one at his show and got a picture with him. Still have the ‘action’ figure on my shelf.” And another fan shared their fond memory: “Oh man I love that guy. I have a few pictures with him and one where I’m hugged up on him with tongue sticking out… I’m a guy (alcohol involved), and another where he is passed out on stage after a bunch of shots.” This conversation emerged following a woman’s post expressing her joy at purchasing a £6 bag from a charity shop, only to find an unexpected treasure inside once she brought it home. The lady had chosen the burgundy bag for its style and how well it would fit into her collection of accessories. On Reddit, she exclaimed: ” The most exciting thrift day ever! That doesn’t even include the clothes I found. It’s crazy that some people just donate things without checking!”.
