Shetland is back for a brand new series, with the usual cast of suspects - sorry, actors - set to star. Returning for its tenth series, the acclaimed BBC murder-mystery drama is shaking things up by setting the new episodes within the fictional village of Lunniswick. Following the murder of a retired social worker, DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh and DI Ruth Calder - played by Alison O’Donnell and Ashley Jensen, respectively - travel to the remote hamlet to investigate, where they encounter a host of new characters living within close-knit community. Speaking about working with the “incredible” actors on board this season, Jensen said: “One of the things I love about this show is the calibre of guest actors we get. This is season ten and we’re still getting huge names to come along.” She added: “It was also wonderful to work with the next generation of actors who had little or no TV experience.
