The Cleveland Browns coaching staff has continued to tune out calls from the fanbase for Shedeur Sanders to receive a chance at starting over current No.1 quarterback Dillon Gabriel. This will seemingly again be the case in Week 11. Gabriel performed adequately against New York on Sunday, avoiding any big mistakes in the game while throwing for 167 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air. However, Gabriel again was not able to do quite enough to get his team a win, coming up short in a 27-20 defeat to the Jets to drop to 2-7 on the year. The former Oklahoma product is now 1-4 in his five starts thus far this season, which certainly doesn’t inspire much confidence that things will turn around any time soon with him under center. At this point, there sure seems to be very little downside in making a change at quarterback to see what Sanders could potentially bring to the table. However, the Browns are not willing to make this move just yet. According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Stefanski announced that Gabriel will again be the starter for their Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Whatever the reason behind this decision may be, Stefanski has continuously shown that he has no problem sticking to his guns, regardless of how unpopular that may be. Whoever the quarterback is moving forward, things may very well need to change in a hurry for Stefanski to keep his job past the 2025 season. So it will be interesting to see whether the organization re-addresses the state of his quarterback room if things continue to go south for the Browns moving forward with Gabriel under center.
