The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency is scheduled to meet Friday to accept the final environmental impact report for the project. The agency’s acceptance of the report, 20,000 pages long and three years in the making, would mark the most consequential step of the project so far. Le Moyne to offer $10,000 stipends to health grad students for child care, other life needs: Le Moyne College trains more than 300 graduate students each year in critical and much-needed healthcare fields, from nursing to mental health counseling. Now, the college is using a $5 million state grant to open doors for academically qualified students who might otherwise be unable to stick with a full-time graduate program because of real-life challenges. Le Moyne estimates that half of the students who drop out each year face these types of challenges. Syracuse airport to hold food drive for unpaid air traffic controllers, TSA agents: Syracuse’s airport will hold a food drive this week to support air traffic controllers and TSA agents who have worked without pay since the federal government shutdown began Oct. 1. The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority said it decided to collect food in response to requests from Central New Yorkers who wanted to know how they could help nearly 200 federal employees at the airport.
