Ashneer Grover is a prominent name in the business world. His expertise in entrepreneurship and sharp insights earned him a place as a judge on the popular business reality television show Shark Tank India. Ashneer, who rose to fame with the show, was admired by audiences for his no-nonsense attitude and blunt, honest conversations with contestants.
Now, Grover has opened up about his earnings beyond the business world, making a surprising revelation about his income as an influencer and television personality.
Ashneer Grover Reveals Television is Not His Primary Source of Revenue
In a conversation with IANS, he clarified that, contrary to popular belief, television is not his primary source of revenue. Ashneer explained that while many assume his television fame brought him higher earnings, his business ventures have been more significant in that regard.
Clearing the air, he shared, “If I am making more money doing TV, then people are mistaken. The business money is many times more. I was fortunate to be part of two unicorns, one of which I co-founded — BharatPe. The amount of money in that is much, much bigger than there is in TV.”
He further explained that, irrespective of how much he earns, he approaches television with the same dedication as his entrepreneurial ventures, though the financial scale between the two remains incomparable.
He shared, “Having said that, I don’t take TV any less seriously. I do it with the same level of passion I would have done any other business. But money — there is no comparison. There is more business money.”
What Does Success Mean to Ashneer Grover?
When asked whether he measures success through fame, money, or a combination of both, Ashneer admitted that for him, money has always been the ultimate benchmark. He said, “”For me, I am a number-driven guy. So, it’s always about money. The one who has more money is more successful. The rest come up with good things to satisfy their hearts. But you can only measure money. Everything else is intangible. So, anyone who has more money is more successful. As simple as that.”
Ashneer Grover On His Entrepreneurial Journey
Reflecting on his unique journey in the business world, he shared, “Now I have been fortunate enough to be part of two unicorns. What is the probability that one person gets involved in two? It’s a very low probability event. It has already played out in my life. Two very big companies have been created. Now, if you have expectations from me, you can think about a third or fourth — but what will the rest do?”
