Shark shoppers 'stunned' by how much dirt new gadget picks up

Those with young children and pets will know the pain of having to constantly clean up after every little spill or accident. Especially when the home is filled with soft furnishings, leaving stains to fester can often mark furniture permanently if not treated properly. Cleaning tech company Shark has just launched a brand new cleaning product that early adopters are calling a ‘game changer’, with its StainForce Cordless Stain-Destroying Spot Cleaner designed to target specific messes while remaining in a portable form factor. It’s launched at a price point of £169.99, offering a powerful cleaning experience that’s ideal for messy households. The star of the show is the handheld cleaning wand , which features a swappable cleaning head that sprays detergent and massages it into the fabric of whatever needs cleaning. It also has a powerful suction, removing residue without damaging the delicate fabric underneath. A large chamber keeps all the debris in one place, resulting in a clean that doesn’t involve shoppers getting their hands dirty. As it’s lightweight and cordless, there’s no need for it to be plugged in at the wall making it perfect for sprucing up the car. Also included in the box is a smart little caddy, which acts as a storage device for the cleaning wand. It’s also super easy to clean with Shark’s Rinse and Go technology meaning it just needs a quick rinse before being ready to go again for its next clean. If £169.99 sounds like a steep price tag for a spot cleaner, Amazon has a few alternatives that might be of interest. The Vytronix SWASH450P Spot Cleaner comes in at £54.99, although it does have a cord that needs to be plugged into the wall. Alternatively, BISSELL makes a highly-rated spot cleaner that comes in at a price of £117.98, It has a 330W motor that’s ideal for cleaning carpets, upholstery and cars. Early reviews of the Shark StainForce Cordless Stain-Destroying Spot Cleaner are remarkably positive with the cleaning gadget earning a 4.9 review score. “As a busy household of 5, plus pets, this little gadget is a game changer. I’ve tried several stains removers on my kitchen sofa that’s had goodness knows what spilled over it over the years and nothing has really worked. I wasn’t expecting great things due to the length of time some of these marks have been there, but nothing proved too much for this machine”, writes ones shopper. A second review reads: “I was surprised to find that you don’t actually need to add any water to the cleaning product and I did doubt that it would remove any dirt (used on sofa). However, it did work exceptionally well, and brought the fabric back to a lovely blue again, on the arms and seating area.” A third customer writes: “Great for spills or stubborn stains. What I liked about this product its not bulky and love the caddy to carry around and storage. Its very light and not heavy. Instructions was easy to read and start it up.” However, while the Shark gadget is supposedly good enough to get rid of old stains, some might prove even to stubborn for this machine. “For spills and new stains this is brilliant, even got blood off a white chair when my daughter had a nose bleed. Although others have said they had good results with old stains, I have a bit of carpet where my cats leave their kill remains that it didn’t work for.” Another customer had the same issue, saying: “As for cleaning I did find that some of my stains on my tatty sofa in conservatory were beyond help! However after a watching an exciting football match on tv the inevitable spill of lager was my opportunity to test it , I can honestly say it was amazing at this fresh spill so powerful that it left it practically dry.”
