Shah Rukh Khan is among the biggest superstars in the world today. One practice he maintains in his career is that he avoids using bad language in films. However, this was not always the case. Shah Rukh Khan revealed in 2007 that he was more relaxed when he started his career. However, after he became a father, he grew cautious of his language and his choice of films. “I don’t like to use bad language in my films. Before my kids, I was a little more relaxed. I’ll be very honest, I didn’t think about other people. But now that I do have kids, I think there are a lot of things I should not do. But whatever I do, I stand by it,” Shah Rukh Khan had said at a Hindustan Times event. He also added, “I don’t like dark films, I don’t want to play very mean characters. I like films to be pleasant and nice and show some good things.” However, Shah Rukh added, “On the other hand, banning smoking or drinking on screen is not such a great idea. I think it’s narrow-minded.” Shah Rukh Khan once also told Anupama Chopra that he can’t swear in front of the camera as he finds it odd. “I have problems swearing on screen. I can’t even say Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie names on screen. I find it odd. I have said the F-word before a scene just to get a feel because it was there. I had problems saying dusht in Devdas,” Shah Rukh said. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for King. The recent title reveal teaser featured SRK in an all-new avatar with silver hair and ear accessories, leaving fans intrigued about his character. Hours after the title reveal on Sunday, King Khan attended a fan meet in Mumbai, during which he shared major details about his character. “The character of King is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy Ghosh have written it with a lot of love. And it has a lot of evil in it. He’s a killer. He kills people,” said Shah Rukh Khan. He further added that he believes it is important for him to play diverse roles. “But for storytelling, it’s very important that heroes like me play different roles: some inspiring, some comic, some romantic. So that’s what I’m trying to do now. I do a big, good film in 1–2 years. Because I also know that making films has become very difficult now. So films should be made carefully so that I don’t let people down,” he said.
