One of the biggest games of the weekend is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. The action-packed spin-off of The Legend of Zelda now explores the era before Tears of the Kingdom and it's a premise that's had the Shacknews staff excited, even more so now that TJ's review is in. That left us asking each other, and now asking the readers, who your main for Age of Imprisonment will be. Shack Chat: Who is your main for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment? Zelda - Ozzie Mejia, Senior Hyrule Warrior I'm a little bit surprised that the rest of the staff didn't opt for the Princess of Hyrule, especially with how much fun everyone had being Zelda with last year's Echoes of Wisdom. I know she has a totally different arsenal this time around, but it doesn't make her any less resourceful or any less powerful. I'm about to go from throwing stools and beds to just carving up legions of foes in one swing. Mineru - TJ Denzer, stans an unbothered queen of machines Players are in for a treat with Mineru, especially if they didn’t make it to the end of Tears of the Kingdom to see what she’s capable of. In ancient Hyrule, Mineru was the Sage of Spirit, and Hyrule’s foremost expert on Zonai technology and history. How that translates to her combat is that she’s a grab-bag of insane combos utilizing fused Zonai devices. I’m pretty sure most of the ideas for her weaponry must have come from the ridiculous Zonai constructs players had been putting together in Tears of the Kingdom already, but she’s just so fun to play. She has all the aura of Rauru, but with a confident intellect that makes her haughty to say the least. Her unbothered vibe, paired with the fact that she lets her machines do the talking in combat all make Mineru my easy favorite in combat and style. Rauru, the first King of Hyrule - Asif Khan, Beat The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom While I am somewhat intrigued by the prospects of playing as the “Mysterious Construct” and Zelda, I have wanted to play as Rauru ever since he was introduced to players in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Rauru is a badass, a leader, and he has that sweet Ultrahand. There are a lot of great choices for characters to main in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, but I choose the OG. Mysterious Construct - Sam Chandler, Mystery Man Having a character with “Mysterious” in their name is an instant source of intrigue. I’m already thinking about the lore implications and why there is the need to label this entity as such. My headcanon thinks this is some form of Link, either turned into a Construct or something designed based on the Hero of Time. I can’t wait to dive in and carve up some baddies - and hopefully discover more about this enigmatic structure. The Goron, Agraston - Steve Tyminski, Rock on! Who is my main for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment? I think I have to go with the Goron, Agraston. I love playing as Yunobo in Tears of the Kingdom, rolling him into enemies. From the looks of the video on the Age of Imprisonment site, Agraston is large, in charge and uses his power for crazy results. In this type of game, enemies will overpower you quickly if you aren’t prepared and having an attack that covers large areas for major damage is a great way to counter. I’m also interested in what Sonia, Mineru, Calarmo, and the Mysterious Construct can do in combat. But to start, I’m going with the Goron, Agraston. Those are our picks for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. Who will you start out with?
