Several road closures planned in Davison area for paving work

DAVISON TWP, MI - Motorists in Davison Township should plan for road closures this week as the Genesee County Road Commission begins paving work at Oak and Lapeer roads. The work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 21, on Oak Road between Lapeer Road and Davison Road, where crews will pave approximately 400 feet between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Lapeer Road between Oak Road and Russell Alger Drive will undergo preparation for paving from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the paving itself scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, during the same hours. The work will be taking place near Davison High School, Davison Alternative Education, and the Cardinal Center, prompting a letter to families in the school district. “The Genesee County Road Commission will be performing work along Oak Road, between Lapeer and Davison roads, tomorrow and on Lapeer Road, between Oak and Russell Alger Drive on Wednesday and Thursday,” the district’s letter reads about the work over the next three days. “Road commission staff said they will try to have crews finished by 2:30 p.m. tomorrow so as not to impact high school traffic.” All roads will be closed to through traffic during the work. Drivers are encouraged to allow themselves extra travel time to reach their destinations.
