A late-night police raid on a popular Rojales nightclub has ended with seven arrests and multiple charges for drugs and weapons possession, according to Spanish authorities. The operation, carried out by the National Police from Orihuela, in coordination with the Valencian Regional Police and the Rojales Local Police, targeted a downtown entertainment venue as part of an immigration and public safety sweep. Officers detained six people for being in Spain illegally and another person wanted on an outstanding court warrant. During the raid, police issued five citations for drug possession or consumption and two for carrying weapons, under Spain’s Citizen Security Law. The coordinated crackdown took place on October 23 and included the canine unit from Rojales Local Police, which helped search the premises for narcotics and other illegal items. Authorities said the operation was part of an ongoing campaign to tighten immigration controls and crack down on crime in nightlife spots across Alicante province. Police sources praised the “effective cooperation” between local and national forces, saying it ensured a swift and safe intervention. “These actions are meant to keep our leisure venues safe and uphold the law,” a spokesperson said. The raid forms part of a broader series of preventive operations aimed at ensuring compliance with immigration and public safety regulations throughout the region.
