Service with a Smile 2025 winners announced

Last week, the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) hosted the award ceremony of the 10th edition of the Premju Servizz bi Tbissima (Service with a Smile Award), which is aimed at recognising businesses that go the extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service. The ceremony was attended by representatives of companies and stakeholders from a wide range of sectors. At the award ceremony, Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul highlighted the positive impact that quality service has on individual consumers. He said that when a business delivers excellent service, it builds a sense of trust and belonging. Consumers return to businesses that value them and from a simple transaction, a lasting relationship can be formed. “A business that invests in quality service is ultimately investing in its own future,” he said. “In today’s competitive markets, consumers have a choice, and when they do not feel appreciated, they simply do not return to that business. This is the reality of the free market.” Ellul thanked the MCCAA’s Office for Consumer Affairs for organising the award and said the initiative reflects the authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between consumers and traders. While consumer law provides the formal framework, consumers enjoy stronger protection when traders go beyond their legal obligations, he added.
