Race 1 (1,200m)
Mostly first timers, so keep an eye on the betting. Of those who have run, (10) WHAT A PASSION improved at her third outing over course and distance. She gets first-time blinkers and shows further improvement.
(16) AURELIAN showed up well over course and distance on debut and is sure to have come on with the experience.
(8) WINTER BLESSING has been consistent and was close-up last run in first-time blinkers. She should run another forward race.
(2) AMELIA’S LEGACY has claims and should not be ignored.
Race 2 (1,200m)
(11) JOHNNY BOY finished close-up from a wide draw when making his debut starting at long odds. That effort should have brought him on.
A neck behind that day was (10) DRIELANDENPUNT, who was also making his debut. The pair have drawn alongside each other and the result could depend on who has come on best.
(4) AMBER ALERT reverts to sprinting with first-time blinkers.
(2) WILLIAM OF ORANGE showed some improvement second time out and has a money chance.
Race 3 (1,200m)
Many first-timers but (5) SON OF RAFEEF was running on well behind the promising Hah Lah Lah on debut. That form has since been franked.
(4) WINTER IN LONDON was not too far back on debut and should come on from the outing.
Among the newcomers, (6) COGNAC and (2) HERE COMES JOHNNY may give this a shake.
Race 4 (1,400m)
(5) JET BLACKFIRE made marked improvement over course and distance with first-time cheek pieces. A repeat should see him in the firing line again.
(3) MASTER SILVANO has not been far back in any of his four starts. This trip on the turf should suit.
(4) PIED PIPER has shown up well in two starts over a mile. This shorter trip could be more suitable.
(9) WINDING POWER raced green in a promising debut and the extra furlong should suit.
Race 5 (1,400m)
(4) SCHIPOLE takes on males and was a little disappointing last time. However, she does appear to be progressive and maybe worth another chance.
(3) TOWN CRIER was well supported in the market at just his second start and he duly obliged. If he can build on that win, he will be a runner.
(1) ROY TAKING OFF tends to take off a little too late but he has the best of the draws and a handy weight. Include in all bets.
(10) GORGEOUS CAPE is another filly taking on males but won well enough second time out and does show some promise.
Race 6 (1,000m)
(7) FASCINATION was a recent maiden winner but has done well on this course and the form of that win has been franked. She gets a 4kg claimer aboard and can follow up.
(1) CAPPELLINO has improved without the blinkers and was close-up over course and distance last time. He gets the services of Richard Fourie.
(4) ARVERNI PRINCESS is never far back. She is down in class and has a handy galloping weight.
(2) NAVAJO DANCER has improved in blinkers and is down in class. He has a 4kg claimer aboard who has not had many chances.
Race 7 (1,000m)
(6) HIERARCHY was narrowly beaten in a Group 2 feature last time. She got a hefty shunt up the ratings for that effort but carries bottom weight in this set-weight sprint.
(8) LUHAMBA PHAMBILI shoulders top weight but has smart form over course and distance and should go close again.
(2) MAJOR TOMMIE could find it tough at these weights but he was a tad unlucky last time. He has shown steady form since returning from a lengthy break.
The lightly raced (7) BLAZING BEAUTY has made marked improvement for her new yard. She was only a maiden winner last start but can surprise.
(5) DARK MATTER has won her last two comfortably. She is up in class but has the benefit of a light weight.
Race 8 (1,600m)
(3) MASTER BOMBER showed signs of a return to form over course and distance last time. He is down to a more competitive mark.
(1) TERMINATOR is something of a course-and-distance specialist and placed in all of his last four starts. He has the best of the draws and should have every chance.
(7) GOLDEN RULE surprised last run when returning from a break and a tricky draw. He can build on that effort and follow up.
(9) GLOBAL MOVEMENT has been a beaten favourite at his last three starts. He is up in class but gets the corresponding drop in the weights.
Race 9 (1,200m)
(8) WILD JUSTICE won well on debut on this course and looks progressive in a field of well-exposed runners. Candice Bass has two runners fresh up from the Cape, where the form is often a lot stronger than local.
Sean Veale stays aboard (7) COUNTER ATTACK, who showed improved form in a Hollywoodbets Durbanville sprint and should start at shorter odds than 20-1.
(11) CIRCUMBENDIBUS won first-up on his arrival from the Cape, where he had steady form over this trip. He got only a three-point raise in the handicap and can follow up.
(4) NOW I GOT YOU is never too far back of late and has a light weight. He should be competitive.
