Selling Sunset favourite quits Netflix show for 'mental health'

Chrishell Stause has announced she's stepping away from Selling Sunset following another explosive series of the popular programme. The 44-year-old found herself embroiled in fierce rows during the latest season, which landed on Netflix last month. However, just days after the new episodes arrived, the star confirmed she's walking away from the much-loved reality series. Speaking to Bustle in an interview released on November 7, she admitted: "I've vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. "I have to be honest - having come from nothing, it's really hard to turn something like this down," reports the Mirror . Despite attempts from producers to persuade her to stay, Chrishell has remained firm in her choice, citing concerns about the programme's effect on her wellbeing. "I've gotten to a place where I don't need the show financially," she added. "I'm lucky to have other forms of employment, because it's no longer good for my mental health." Whilst the announcement might surprise fans, Chrishell appears to have made peace with her departure back in August, during the filming of the series nine reunion. With host Tan France moderating, she confronted her issues with Nicole Young and Emma Hernan. Nicole had made a 'below the belt' comment about Chrishell's deceased parents during Amanza Smith's Girlsgiving dinner. Meanwhile, Chrishell had clashed with Emma over her on-and-off Blake Davis , who Chrishell claims holds controversial views. Whilst filming the season's finale, Chrishell was already certain she would 'never have to do this again'. "I think, after so many hours, I felt like, 'Sit here, get through it. You're not a quitter, but you never have to do this again,'" she confessed to Bustle. "And I promise you, to your soul, you won't." She echoed similar sentiments to Variety in October, admitting: "The reunion was so brutal. "In that moment, I realised I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn't the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile," she added. Netflix has yet to announce if the show will return for a tenth season.
