Selling Sunset's Bre Tiesi Breaks Her Silence on Chrishell Stause's Exit

Bre Tiesi is not holding back about her reaction to Chrishell Stause officially leaving Selling Sunset ahead of season 10. “I’m not surprised because she’s threatened it every season. She’s been threatening it since I got there,” Bre, 34, exclusively told Us Weekly. “I would be surprised if she actually does go. I don’t really care if she’s there or not.” Bre cited her ongoing issues with Chrishell, 44, as the reason for her indifference, saying, “She’s irrelevant to my life, personally. Hopefully she finds something better for her mental state and she can find some peace and she can move on and not be so miserable.” Days after the season 9 reunion aired on Wednesday, November 5, Chrishell shocked viewers by confirming her exit from Selling Sunset. “I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health,” Chrishell told Bustle on Friday, November 7. “If they do continue, I wish them the best. If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even though I’m leaving not in the way that I would’ve loved.” Bre agreed with Chrishell’s decision after she ended up at odds with most of their costars. “I don’t think anyone really knows why she’s acting the way she’s been acting lately — or why she’s been coming at everybody. I always say at the end of the day if people are moving like that, it’s usually something personal that they’re going through,” she speculated. “Maybe she’s trying to make changes. There’s so many things that people go through which account for why they act the way they do and we don’t always consider that.” She continued: “I’m not the most empathetic person, but I am very logical. It’s hard for me because the psychology behind it — when you really look at it — is that there’s too many things that weigh into that. It’s not me, it’s not Emma [Hernan] and it’s not everyone in the office. But at some point, I just have to step away [from the drama].” After joining Selling Sunset in season 6, Bre initially formed a friendship with Chrishell and Emma. The group fell apart, however, in season 9 amid Bre’s ongoing conflict with Chelsea Lazkani. Chrishell and Bre tried to address their issues at the reunion when Bre mentioned Chrishell putting her on blast for allegedly speaking badly about her and partner G Flip. Bre denied the accusations and the duo argued as host Tan France awkwardly called for a lunch break. “It’s obviously gone to the pits of hell. It’s just way too dark and it’s way too heavy. It’s not the show I signed up for. I’ve been saying this since the day I joined, when Chelsea had her accusations about my family. I was here for the catty drama and the surface level stuff,” Bre explained to Us. “Stuff like, ‘You took my client and that’s my seat.’ I’m not Candace Owens. I don’t want to talk about politics. This is not to me. This is all ridiculous and it’s unwarranted.” Bre pointed out that the point of the show got lost amid the feuds. “We’re here to make entertainment, show fashion, show the beauty of L.A and our clients and the luxury. I don’t give a f*** who your partner is, who you choose to vote for and I don’t think that they are a fun space to be doing on a global level,” she noted. “Religion, politics and all of these things are personal. I don’t believe they need to be discussed [on a reality show]. Some people do and that’s fine. That’s their choice but that is not mine.” She added: “I don’t want to be a part of a show that continues this narrative. I’ve said that — and everyone on the cast has said that — and we are really trying to draw the line. I feel like if the one consistent person here for all of those narratives is not going to be around then we’ll be successful.” Looking back at season 9, Bre was glad to have a “smoother” onscreen journey, adding, “I got to really show a lot of my personal life because I wasn’t fighting with everybody and I wasn’t filming with them. It made it actually great for me.” Bre went on to point out how much of her personality was previously cut from the narrative. “Nobody knows me. Everybody thinks they know me and they think that because I can rip a bitch apart that that’s the only characteristic that I have. That’s not how I truly live my life. I spend 99 percent of the time with my son,” Bre, who shares 3-year-old son Legendary with Nick Cannon, shared. “We’re outdoorsy people and I have a full farm. I spend my time gardening with my son and I spend my time doing things that people would never think that I do. I’m in full mommy mode. I don’t live my life fighting with people all day. It’s just funny because I have real hobbies and real-life stuff that never gets shown. So there’s so much more to it too that hopefully I get to show more in season 10.” Speaking of season 10, Bre confirmed that she is “definitely” interested in returning. “I’ve had plenty of seasons where I was on the fence but last season was good for me,” she said. “At this point I’m so deep that what’s the point of leaving now when I’m already here?” Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
