TWINSBURG, Ohio – Giesecke+Devrient ePayments America will close its Twinsburg facility beginning Jan. 30, 2026, according to an Ohio Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice. Some 240 jobs will be cut at the global security technology company, which specializes in payment solutions. Limitations in the size and infrastructure of the Twinsburg facility, located at 1960 and 2020 Enterprise Parkway, were the main reason for the closure, according to the notice. The closure will continue through Dec. 26, 2026. In their official notice, Giesecke+Devrient said the decision aligns with its “goal to support long-term business efficiency, centralized operations, and strategic growth.” Affected employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights. Employees will be notified of their separation date at least 60 days in advance. They will receive severance pay, information about unemployment benefits and access to job placement and retraining opportunities through Ohio Means Jobs, according to the notice. The company will also provide counseling services through its Employee Assistance Plan. In the notice, Giesecke+Devrient acknowledged the impact the closure will have on the affected employees, their families and the Twinsburg community. Giesecke+Devrient was founded in Leipzig, Germany, in 1852 and is currently headquartered in Munich, Germany. The company employs 13,900 people in 37 countries, according to its website.
