A town in Wales has become the first place in the country to receive a specific accolade. Aberystwyth has been recognised as a new member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). It recognises places across the world for their commitment to championing creativity to build resilient and vibrant communities. Aberystwyth has been recognised as part of the literature category. It is one of 58 new towns and cities across the world that has received the recognition. Other areas have received it for reasons including music, design, film, craft, gastronomy and architecture.
