Is the NFL potentially sleeping on the Seattle Seahawks as a clear Super Bowl favorite? More news: Raiders Fire Assistant Coach Amid Disastrous 2025 Season It appears this NFC West team continues to get stronger each week, and they showcased that with a dominant win over the Arizona Cardinals. Now, the Cardinals are a much worse team on paper, but they are certainly not the worst in the league or in the NFC. Despite that, the Seahawks marched into Lumen Field and showcased why they could be the dark horse candidate for the Super Bowl. Sam Darnold continues to prove the Minnesota Vikings made a mistake by letting him walk, as he put together a performance of 10-for-12 passing attempts, 178 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Minus the turnover, he played the part perfectly, allowing the dynamic run game and defense to shine. On the ground, the Seahawks once again used a committee that included Zach Charbonnet picking up 83 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries, Kenneth Walker II picking up 67 yards on 14 carries, and George Holani securing 31 yards and one touchdown on seven carries. In total, the committee running back corps picked up 198 yards and two touchdowns on 48 carries. Early on in the second quarter, Seattle had a commanding 28-0 lead. It did not really matter what the Cardinals did; the Seahawks had the wiggle room to coast to a win. The Cardinals would score three touchdowns in total, one in the second, one in the third, and one in the fourth. Despite the small bounce back, the Seahawks padded their own lead with 44 total points. In their second lopsided win in back-to-back weeks, this team has been surprising to watch. It isn’t the fact that Darnold’s play in 2025 proves that 2024 was no fluke, or the fact that the run game continues to find ways to implement multiple playmakers. It’s the totality of coaching and players on both sides of the ball. The Seahawks are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for the best record in the NFC with 7-2, and both teams are showcasing elite skills. It could be down to the pair of NFC West combatants when all is said and done in the NFC Championship game. What is exciting is that the Seahawks and Rams will face off against one another next in what could be a preview for the NFC Championship. For more on the Seahawks, head to Newsweek Sports.
