An award-winning inn in Scotland can now be booked for better than half price. One previous guest described the accommodation as the "perfect stay". The Ship Inn is a hotel situated in the Dumfries and Galloway town of Gatehouse of Fleet, which is within easy reach of sandy beaches and Galloway Forest. The inn, which features a restaurant and a riverside beer garden, was previously named the Best Hotel Experience for South of Scotland at the prestigious 2024 Thistle Awards. At the moment, an overnight getaway for two at The Ship Inn can be booked at a 54 per cent discount on Wowcher . The one-night stay is available to book at a cost of £99 through the voucher website, while the standard price is £214.20. According to Wowcher, the hotel features "charming" double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Guest rooms come with complimentary WiFi, while dog -friendly rooms are available by request. Food is available daily from 12pm to 8pm, with produce for its varied menu locally sourced, while roast dinners are available on Sundays. In terms of things to do while staying in the area, there are many walking and cycling forest trails that begin right from the hotel's door. There are also a number of independent shops spread around Gatehouse of Fleet, as well as a playground. One guest posted: "Perfect stay. This was our first stay here. All staff were very friendly. "The room was lovely and big—absolutely spotless. Large bathroom as well. "Dining here is always a joy. We shall definitely stay here again." A slightly less positive review states: "Room was not so good, no fridge, no bottled water, my husband hit his head on the vault ceiling twice, not so good. Our fellow friends had lovely room, ours was a bit rubbish. "It was comfortable but very small, bathroom was great, but how long do you spend in there." Another visitor shared: "This is a small smartly decorated hotel and restaurant. It’s ideally placed within Gatehouse close to areas for both walking and enjoying local amenities.
