Scottie Pippen’s Son Pays Bold Tribute to Father From 5844 Miles Away

This was the 60th birthday celebration of Scottie Pippen. Yet the Chicago Bulls legend wasn’t home to celebrate. Instead, he attended an important event that would send positive signals all around the globe. Even though he was away from the family, his kids made social media posts and stories so their father wouldn’t miss them on his special day. And a day later, 6x NBA champion’s eldest son with Larsa Pippen shared another tribute.
“🖤 @spippenjr just got a “Legacy” tattoo to show love to his father and Hall Of Famer @scottiepippen! The piece depicts Scotty walking with his father holding hands.” This was the original post from inkednba that Scotty Pippen Jr shared on his IG story. Plus, the song choice was also ‘legacy’ from Jay Z. The photo illustrates the Bulls legend with his iconic #33 holding hands with his son, and both looking at a practice court. That image also consists of a road sign of Del Lago Dr and Old Mill Road, signifying where the court is located.
Below this entire picture is the word LEGACY, inscribed as the 24-year-old is taking strides in his NBA career. This tribute made the birthday even better for Scottie Pippen, who was in Madrid. The soccer club of Real Madrid shared a post, “🏀 A special guest at the Bernabéu… Scottie Pippen!” Accompanying the 7x All-Star to the stadium visit were the club’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, and Rudy Fernández. But what was the 60-year-old doing in Madrid, 5844.7 miles away from his home?

He was an Inclusive All-Star Ambassador for the Fundación Sanitas. Promoting inclusivity in sport and doing so by going all the way to the Spanish capital. When asked about it, the Bulls legend had a simple answer. “It’s a great opportunity for me to be part of all of this. It’s a great chance to give a voice to people with disabilities who want to play sports. Being with them, playing with them, is the beginning of something great. It’s a great way to send a message.”

Yesterday, he was courtside at the event, enjoying the full experience. In fact, the 6x NBA champion wrote, “Incredible event.” on his Instagram story. It seemed like a packed house, and what made it even more incredible was the celebration on the court. Apart from being allies for inclusivity in sport, the spectators even joined in celebrating the 6th birthday of the Bulls legend.
Fans made it special, so did Scottie Pippen’s son
As stated earlier, Scotty Pippen Jr. shared his tattoo to honor his father. Being the eldest child of Scottie and Larsa, there is enough pressure on the Grizzlies guard’s shoulders. But the 24YO did not fold under those huge expectations. Last year, he was the team’s second-leading bench scorer, averaging just under 10 points. His production, role, and performance increased during the playoffs. He then proceeded to score at least 13 points in five of his six postseason starts, including 28 and 30 points in the Grizzlies’ final two games of their first-round series against the Thunder.

Last season, he also made his father proud by etching their name in the history books together. In the Memphis Grizzlies’ 128-104 victory over the Washington Wizards, the guard scored the first triple-double of his career. With a stat line of 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, thus being the first father-son duo to record a triple-double in the NBA play-by-play era, which started in 1996-97. At the time, Scottie Pippen shared this accomplishment with pride.
