COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Richland County involving a truck and a lawn mower.
Troopers said the crash happened Saturday night. on Sloan Road near the intersection with Dorichee Lane, about one mile north of Columbia.
According to Highway Patrol, a 2015 Dodge Ram and the zero-turn lawnmower were both traveling east on Sloan Road when the Ram hit the back of the lawnmower near the intersection of Dorichee Lane.
While the driver of the truck had no injuries from the crash, the driver of the lawnmower had to be taken to Prisma Health Richland.
SCHP says the driver of the lawnmower died at the hospital as a result of their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
