School board asks people to stop sharing fight video showing Deshler high football players

The Tuscumbia City Board of Education is asking people to stop sharing a video of a fight in a football locker room. In a statement posted to social media, the board said it was aware of the video showing an altercation between two Deshler High School football players. Citing privacy laws, the board said it cannot provide additional information about the incident but confirmed students involved “received consequences consistent with the District’s Code of Conduct and Board Policy.” The board did not say when or where the video was taken. Deshler suffered its first loss of the season last Friday when they were defeated by West Morgan 13-7. The Tigers will play North Jackson this Friday in the first round of the high school football playoffs. The board asked people to stop sharing the video “in the best interest of…students and their families.” “The district wants to stress that this video depicts students, and that these students have parents and families. While we cannot stop anyone from doing so, we encourage those with the video to refrain from sharing it and posting it on social media,” the statement said.
