At a time when institutions across the globe grapple with disruption and rising demandsfor accountability, conversations around ethical governance and sustainability havebecome more urgent than ever.In response, the “Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN)” has announced its“20th Anniversary Corporate Governance Conference”, scheduled for October 9, 2025,at 10 a.m. in Lagos. The milestone event will not only celebrate the Society’s twodecades of promoting governance standards in Nigeria but also convene regulators,board leaders, and industry experts to explore practical strategies for building resilient,future-ready institutions.With the theme “Strengthening Ethical Governance in a Disrupted World: Reflections onthe Governance Journey for a Sustainable Future,” the conference will reflect onNigeria’s governance progress over the past 20 years while addressing today’s mostpressing questions: How can institutions remain resilient amid global disruption? Howshould leaders balance innovation with accountability? And how can ethics continue toanchor sustainable progress in a rapidly changing world?The conference will feature insights from a distinguished lineup of speakers. Dr.Omobola Johnson, former Minister of Communication Technology, will deliver thekeynote on ethical leadership in a disrupted environment. She will be joined by Dr.Emomotimi Agama, Director-General, SEC Nigeria; Mr. Temi Popoola, GMD/CEO, NGXGroup; and Dr. Rabiu Olowo, Executive Secretary/CEO, FRCN.A high-level panel session, moderated by Mr. Adedayo Amzat, CFA, Group ManagingDirector, Zedcrest Group, will bring together thought leaders including: Mr. TaiwoOyedele, Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy & Tax Reforms, Ms. Kim Anderson, CEO, Leadright Consultant (South Africa), Mrs. Yeside Kazeem, Director, Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance (NCGC), Ms. Omolola Oloworanran, DG, National Pension Commission (PenCom) and Mrs. Suzanne Iroche, Chairperson,Coronation Life Assurance Limited.
