SBI Card has announced changes in its fee structure and other charges that will take effect from November 1, 2025. The fee will apply to payments made to schools, colleges, and other educational institutions through aggregators or payment apps.However, the circular clarifies that no fee will be charged if the payment is made directly to the institution, either through its official website or Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals located on campus.Card users who prefer paying the school or college fee directly through the institution’s official payment channels can avoid the 1% fee.Also read: SBI Card revised rules: Reliance SBI credit card holders to get higher reward points; check detailsAs per the SBI Card website, “W.e.f. 1st Nov 2025, a fee of 1% of the transaction amount will be applicable on Education Payments made through third-party apps. However, payments made directly to colleges or schools via their websites or POS machines will not attract any fee.”SBI Card fee for wallet load transactionsA 1% charge will also apply to wallet load transactions exceeding Rs 1,000. This means that every time a user adds more than Rs 1,000 to their digital wallet balance, a small fee equivalent to 1% of the loaded amount will be deducted.For instance, loading Rs 2,000 into a wallet will now incur a Rs 20 charge.As per the SBI Card website, “W.e.f. 1st Nov 2025, a fee of 1% of the transaction amount will be applicable on every wallet load transaction exceeding Rs 1,000.”Cash payment feeSBI Card charges Rs 250 as the cash payment fee.Payment dishonour feeIf your payment has been dishonored, SBI Card charges a dishonor fee of 2% of the payment amount, subject to a minimum of Rs 500.Cheque payment feeSBI Card levies Rs 200 as the cheque payment fee.Cash advance feesCash advance fee at SBI ATMs and other domestic ATMs is 2.5% of the transaction amount, which is subject to a minimum of Rs 500. At international ATMs, the cash advance fee is 2.5% of the transaction amount, which is subject to a minimum of Rs 500.Card replacement feeThe card replacement fee ranges from Rs 100 to Rs 250, while for Aurum cards, the fee is Rs 1,500.
