He shared a touching memory about filmmaker Yash Chopra, who produced the film. “I had just finished Hum Aapke Hain Koun and felt that DDLJ would be just as big a hit,” he said. “I told Yash ji… I am getting the same feeling.” When DDLJ became a blockbuster, Chopra often teased him, calling him a “seer.” Shah remembered the sets as being full of camaraderie and fun. “It was a very friendly atmosphere.
