Satirical gaming and culture news site, Hard Drive, has stopped the presses to tell you Elon Musk sucks at video games.

The parody news brand, which primarily writes spoof articles on gaming culture, took a moment from writing about Mega Man beating “the s**t” out of his rivals to drag the 54-year-old billionaire and his anti-trans views.

In a Sunday (14 September) post on X/Twitter rival Bluesky, it joked that the “real reason” for Musk’s anti-trans stance “is because they’re all better at video games than you are.”

After the fierce read, the publication shared a follow-up post featuring the trans Pride flag and the caption: “Here is some non-satire for you: Trans rights forever.”

Musk’s gaming habits have been continually mocked after he ‘rage quit’ a Path of Exile 2 livestream in April over his clearly poor performance.

In an effort to showcase Starlink’s Wi-Fi capabilities, Musk livestreamed the video game while aboard his private jet.

The broadcast was brief; however, after the game’s chat function was inundated with users mocking Musk, both for his poor gaming skills and for “ruining the [US]” through his political actions while he was head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The businessman, who professes to be an avid gamer, raised eyebrows after appearing to reach the top of the Diablo IV online leaderboards in November 2024, prompting people to question how he has the time to play the game enough to make it to number one.

He later admitted in March 2025 that he was, in reality, paying people to play Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2 on his accounts to boost his spot on the leaderboard.

This and several other Musk-related gaffes have been the basis for multiple parody articles from Hard Drive, which routinely calls him the “most divorced gamer.”

In one satirical article from May, the publication wrote that Musk, whose net worth is nearly quadruple the yearly cost to wipe out world hunger by 2030, announced “further delays to his development of full self-awareness.”

Hard Drive’s reads are so regular, in fact, that the publication issued a formal apology for “dunking on him too hard” in 2022, writing: “We should have known that it was unwise to go toe-to-toe with a billionaire who’s famous for his ability to deliver epic clapbacks for his critics (like when Mr. Musk called a diver who rescued children from a flooded cave a paedophile).”

When he isn’t seeing billions of dollars being wiped off the value of his companies, Musk is often found expressing his anti-trans views on his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, which he acquired in 2022.

Earlier this month, he gave an “observation” that no one asked for by baselessly claiming “white males” were being coerced into transitioning through what he described as “propaganda.”

With no evidence to justify his claims, Musk, who is not a sexologist and has no education in gender studies, argued that propaganda “portraying white men as the worst human beings” was the “major driver of white males becoming trans.”

He did not clarify what “propaganda” he was referring to, instead further claiming that vulnerable teens were being coerced into becoming what he described as a “celebrated group.”

The so-called “celebrated” group Musk is referring to, being the trans community, ranked among the highest demographic for reported hate crimes in the US, according to an August report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
