Satara Doctor ‘Loved’ Second Accused, Claims MP Pressured Her to Falsify Medical Reports

The death of a woman doctor in Satara has raised serious concerns after her four-page suicide letter revealed that she was pressured by a Member of Parliament and his aides to issue fake medical certificates for accused individuals in police custody. Investigations confirm that the doctor shared a close personal relationship with the second accused, Prashant Bankar, who is currently in police custody. The first accused, PSI Gopal Badane, surrendered to police yesterday and has been charged with rape. Preliminary probes indicate no foul play at the hotel where the incident occurred. Suicide Letter Reveals Pressure from MP The letter recounts an incident where she had refused to issue a certificate. Following her refusal, two assistants of the MP visited the hospital, dialled the politician, and made her speak to him. She claimed that the MP threatened her indirectly, although she did not name him in the letter. No Foul Play at Hotel, Police Confirm Police confirmed that the doctor had personally booked the hotel room after searching online for accommodation. Surveillance footage and witness statements show that no other individual entered or left the premises during the relevant period. Senior police sources added that the doctor maintained limited communication with her family and had required emotional support at various points in her life. Relationship with Second Accused, Prashant Bankar Digital forensics have recovered complete communication logs between the doctor and Prashant Bankar, the second accused, with no signs of tampering. Evidence indicates that the doctor shared several photographs and notes with him before her death, including an image of the hotel she booked and a note written on her palm. She also sent a photo of the noose she later used to commit suicide. Police sources revealed that the doctor and Bankar were together shortly before her death. According to Bankar, the doctor had engaged in similar behaviour previously, as reflected in their chat history. Investigators continue to examine all evidence to piece together the timeline of events. All communication between the doctor and Badane appears to have been deleted, allegedly by the doctor herself, and authorities are working to reconstruct the context and timeline of interactions leading up to her death.
