Samsung Wallet Now Lets Mahindra EV Owners Unlock Cars With Their Galaxy Phones

Samsung has teamed up with Mahindra to make driving a little smarter and a lot more convenient for Indian consumers. The tech giant today announced the rollout of Digital Car Key compatibility for Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs (XEV 9e and BE 6) through Samsung Wallet, allowing Galaxy users to unlock, lock, and even start their vehicles directly from their smartphones. With this, Mahindra becomes the first Indian automaker (OEM) to integrate the Digital Car Key feature with Samsung Wallet. Once paired, the car key sits securely inside the Galaxy smartphone, eliminating the need for a physical key. Users can also share their Digital Car Key with friends or family for a limited time and manage access easily within the app. "We are very excited to bring Mahindra eSUV owners the incredible convenience of Samsung Digital Key through Samsung Wallet. Expanding access to Samsung Digital Car Key is an important part of our commitment to delivering connected and secure experiences within the Galaxy ecosystem. Our partnership with Mahindra marks another exciting step forward in making everyday activities—like driving—hassle-free for more Galaxy users," said Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director, Services & Apps Business, Samsung India. "Our Electric Origin SUVs have redefined premium electric mobility. The integration of Samsung’s Digital Car Key is another step towards enhancing our customers’ ownership experience with futuristic technology," Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division And Executive Director at Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd, added. Samsung says users can rest easy even if their Galaxy device is lost or stolen. Using Samsung Find, they can remotely lock their phone or wipe their data, including the car key. The feature is protected by Samsung Knox, along with biometric and PIN-based authentication for added security. Samsung Wallet already supports digital payments, IDs, and travel passes, and now, with car key integration, it’s becoming a true all-in-one hub for Galaxy users in India.
