The classic role of the television in the modern home is changing. Samsung recently announced the rollout of Vision AI Companion across its 2025 TV lineup, integrating an enhanced version of its Bixby AI assistant. This development allows users to engage in natural, two-way dialogue with their TV. Basically, you can say goodbye to the rigid preset voice commands. Vision AI Companion is designed to integrate search and information access directly into the viewing experience. The system enables users to ask questions about the playing content in real time. For example, a user can instantly inquire about an actor’s background, the final score of a game, or details about an artwork—all without navigating away from the program. The AI will show the responses visually on the screen, often alongside related content, minimizing interruption. Samsung TVs get real-time conversational AI on 2025 lineup with upgraded Bixby The brain behind this feature actually has a “multi-agent” approach. Samsung’s updated Bixby combines some large language models (LLMs), boasting Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity technology. This allows the AI to handle conversational context and follow-up questions, resulting in interactions that feel more fluid than traditional virtual assistants. The system’s capabilities are not just about on-screen content. Vision AI Companion enables a range of general tasks, such as finding TV and movie recommendations, requesting travel suggestions, locating nearby restaurants, or even accessing step-by-step recipe videos. Users can activate the system by pressing a dedicated AI button on the remote control. Samsung is rolling out this technology across its entire 2025 TV and Smart Monitor range. The list also includes the Neo QLED and OLED models. Furthermore, Vision AI Companion supports 10 different languages, including English, Korean, and Spanish. Samsung announced its plans to roll out its new Vision AI platform earlier this year. Let’s hope the long wait is truly worth it.
