Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Leaks: 5 Big Upgrades To Expect Over S25 Ultra Next Year

The Samsung Galaxy S series has always been at the centre of attention in the Android flagship world, and the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is no exception. Although its official launch is still months away, early leaks and reports have already painted a pretty detailed picture of what Samsung may bring to the table. If you’ve been wondering how it might improve upon the Galaxy S25 Ultra, here are five major upgrades you can look forward to. 1. Familiar Design, Subtle Refinements The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to retain Samsung’s signature design language, but with small tweaks to make it more comfortable in hand. A flat 6.9-inch display with a centered punch-hole camera and ultra-slim bezels is likely to stay, but the corners may get slightly rounded for better ergonomics. The button layout remains unchanged, with the power and volume keys on the right, while the bottom houses the SIM tray, USB-C port, speaker, and the much-loved S Pen slot. 2. A New Camera Layout Samsung is reportedly rethinking its rear camera design this year. According to leaks, the S26 Ultra will feature four cameras, but their arrangement will be visually different. Three sensors may sit vertically on a raised camera island, while the fourth lens sits separately on the back panel. The LED flash and an extra cutout sensor are positioned above, making this setup unique compared to the minimalist floating-lens design of the S25 Ultra. 3. Next-Gen Power With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Performance is expected to get a big leap thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, built on a 3nm process (via Qualcomm’s announcement). Storage and RAM options are likely to max out at 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The phone is also tipped to be slightly slimmer at 163.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm, weighing around 217 grams. Samsung could also use a new M14 OLED panel, promising brighter visuals with less glare and more efficiency. 4. Faster Charging On The Horizon One area where Samsung has long lagged is charging speed. While reports are mixed, some leaks suggest the S26 Ultra could finally bump its wired charging from 45W to 60W. Wireless charging may also see a meaningful upgrade with Qi2.2 magnetic charging at 25W, which would improve efficiency and alignment thanks to in-built magnets. A New Privacy Display Feature Perhaps the most exciting upgrade is Samsung’s rumoured Privacy Display. Instead of depending on external screen protectors, the company could integrate privacy-focused hardware and software directly into the phone. This means shoulder surfers may finally have a harder time sneaking a glance at your screen in public spaces.
