Major SSD manufacturers are now confirming the launch of their next-gen PCIe Gen6 SSDs for enterprise by 2026-2027.
Samsung To Roll Out 512 TB PCIe Gen6 SSDs In 2027, InnoGrit Aims 2026 Release For Its Enterprise Gen6 AI SSDs
The Enterprise and server segment will see major upgrades between 2026 and 2027 to address the growing AI requirements. With this, major SSD manufacturers are fast-forwarding their Gen6 SSD plans, which are now expected between 2026 and 2027.
At the GMIF Innovation Summit 2025 held in Shenzen, these manufacturers came forward to showcase their upcoming technologies.
Starting first with Samsung, VP & Chief Technology Officer of the Memory Business Unit, Kevin Yoo, stated that the company is working towards its next-gen CXL 3.1 and PCIe 6.0 CMM-D products, which should be available next year (2026). He also stated that the company’s next-gen PM1763 Gen6 SSD solution will be launching in early 2026, offering double the performance, much higher energy efficiency, & a 25W power consumption.
Samsung won’t just stop there. They also plan on offering higher capacity variants with the 256 TB Gen5 solution already rolling out, while the 512 TB Gen6 solution will be available around 2027. These will come in the EDSFF 1T form factor. Samsung is also prepping its 7th Gen Z-NAND with GIDS, and that’s expected for next year too.
In addition to Samsung, InnoGrit also unveiled its plans for PCIe Gen6 SSDs for the AI Enterprise segment. The company states that it is developing a net-gen solution, capable of up to 25M IOPS & 512B Random Read speeds. InnoGrit expects to roll out its first PCIe 6.0 SSDs by 2026.
