What’s happened? A new leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could support significantly faster charging speeds than its predecessor, thanks to an upgraded charging solution. Previous reports indicate that the top-end model may feature 60W fast charging support, which in itself would be a big upgrade over the 45W support on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, according to a recent post from leaker Chunvn8888 on X, Samsung will also switch to a new PPS charging solution on the upcoming model, which will reportedly charge the device at 55W until it reaches 15%, and then slow down to 45W until it reaches 70%. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s charging system rarely sustains its rated 45W speeds. It typically only reaches that level below 20% battery, before dropping down to 34W until 35%, and slowing down further as the device heats up and gets closer to 100%. Why is this important? Samsung is still playing catch-up with Chinese rivals like OnePlus and Xiaomi, which already offer 80W or even 120W fast charging support on their devices. By offering 60W fast charging on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the South Korean giant could narrow that gap and address one of the few complaints users have had with previous Ultra models. If the new PPS charging solution can sustain higher wattage for longer, users may notice shorter charging times, leading to a better experience in day-to-day use.
