Sameer Wankhede’s plea against Aryan Khan’s show The Ba**ds of Bollywood rejected by Delhi High Court due to…

The Delhi High Court on Friday questioned Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhedes defamation case against Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khans production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix. The petition claimed that the Netflix show The Ba**ds of Bollywood had damaged Sameer Wankhede’s reputation.
Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav questioned Wankhede’s lawyer on how the plea could be considered maintainable in Delhi. The court said Your plaint is not maintainable here in Delhi. I am rejecting your plaint. Had your case been that you have been defamed at various places including Delhi and the maximum damage has occurred in Delhi we would have still considered the matter here in Delhi.
However senior advocate Sandeep Sethi who was representing Wankhede said that the series has been aired in big cities including Delhi and it has also dented the image of the ex-NCB officer. He said So far as the web series is meant for Delhi it is seen by viewers in Delhi and I am defamed here.
In the petition filed by Wankhede he demanded Rs 2 crore for the damages which he aimed to donate to the Tata Memorial Centre. He claimed that the web series depicts anti-drug enforcement agencies inaccurately and negatively thereby eroding public trust.
Meanwhile coming to Aryan Khans series The Bads of Bollywood* the series is receiving much love. Featuring Lakshay Lalwani and Sahher Bambba in lead roles The Bads of Bollywood* is making waves on the OTT platform Netflix.
