Samarkand becomes a platform for advancing new global political, cultural initiatives

TASHKENT, Nov 03 (UzA/APP): The convening of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand has sparked significant interest not only among the international community but also among young people. Sabina Zakirova, a student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, shared her thoughts on the event: “Young people are proud that Samarkand has become a platform for advancing new global political and cultural initiatives. The speech delivered by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference not only enhanced the country’s prestige but also highlighted the ‘Uzbek model’ of diplomacy. The speech of the Head of State contributed to shaping a new global paradigm of cooperation in culture, education, and science. During the address, initiatives of global significance were put forward, including the development of inclusive education, the convening of an international forum of experts on AI ethics, the establishment of an International Institute of Digital Heritage, and the adoption of joint effective measures to counteract the spread of biased information, public manipulation, and discrimination in virtual space. These approaches demonstrate that Uzbekistan is a reliable partner in international diplomacy and the humanitarian sphere. Uzbekistan’s policies aimed at protecting the rights of women and youth, as well as addressing climate challenges, reflect a humanistic character and underscore the country’s commitment to social justice and sustainable development. On the international stage, Uzbekistan has introduced a new concept of humanitarian diplomacy, based on the principles of unity, dialogue, and trust.
