Saltus Shines At Soccer Tournament In Canada Football teams from Saltus Grammar School made a strong showing at the CAIS National Soccer Tournament in Canada. A spokesperson said, “Saltus Grammar School delivered a series of outstanding performances at the Canadian Association of Independent Schools [CAIS] National Soccer Tournaments, held from Tuesday, 14th October to Sunday, 19th October, with teams proudly representing the school in three divisions: Under 13 Boys, Under 14 Girls, and Senior Boys. “The Under 13 Boys continued their impressive legacy with a strong run to the finals. The team recorded four wins, one draw, and one loss﹘a narrow 1-0 defeat in the championship match against St. Andrew’s College. The final was described as a ‘highly competitive showdown’ that brought an end to Saltus’ remarkable three-year unbeaten streak. As two-time defending champions and this year’s runners-up, the boys demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. “Making school history, the Under 14 Girls competed in their first-ever CAIS tournament, achieving remarkable success. The team won three games and lost two, advancing all the way to the finals before falling to host school Bishop Strachan School, which remained undefeated. Their spirited play, resilience, and unity earned admiration from fellow teams and coaches, marking an exciting new chapter for Saltus athletics and setting a strong foundation for future success. “In the Senior Boys division, Saltus faced some of the toughest competition from across Canada, finishing an impressive 5th out of 22 teams. With three wins and two losses, the team displayed determination, adaptability, and composure in one of the most physically demanding tournaments of the season. “Beyond the results, the week-long experience offered students invaluable opportunities to grow both on and off the field. Competing in cold-weather conditions, the players embraced the challenges of travel, independence, and teamwork.
