On October 27, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Sergio Gor, the U.S. President’s Special Representative for South and Central Asia, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The meeting was reported on Mirziyoyeva’s official Telegram channel. According to her post, the high-ranking U.S. officials acknowledged the pace and scale of reforms carried out under President Mirziyoyev’s leadership over the past eight years. “We paid special attention to emerging opportunities in trade between our countries and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in public security,” Mirziyoyeva wrote. She emphasized that such meetings provide both sides with a better understanding of each other’s potential and open doors for further collaboration. Also present at the meeting was Komil Allamjonov, former Head of the Presidential Administration’s Information Policy Department and now an independent public advisor to the Administration’s Head. The President’s foreign policy advisor, Abdulaziz Kamilov, also took part. After arriving in Uzbekistan, Sergio Gor and Christopher Landau met with U.S. companies on October 25 to discuss opportunities for promoting mutual prosperity. Earlier, on October 6, they explored Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture. Photos released by the U.S. Embassy showed the American officials visiting the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Chorsu Bazaar in Tashkent, accompanied by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick. On October 27, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov also held talks with Sergio Gor. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev later met with the U.S. envoy, during which Gor presented a number of gifts on behalf of former U.S. President Donald Trump. For reference, Sergio Gor was born in Tashkent on November 30, 1986, and later studied in the United States. He built his political career within the Republican Party and served in several roles in Donald Trump’s team, being known as one of his closest associates. Gor previously worked as Director of the Presidential Personnel Office at the White House and actively participated in political campaigns. On August 22, 2025, Donald Trump nominated him as U.S. Ambassador to India. He currently serves as the Special Representative for South and Central Asia. As reported earlier, on September 22, 2025, during the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Sergio Gor at his official residence in New York.
