Manilva is preparing to celebrate its food and wine heritage at Saborea Manilva 2025, the town’s signature food festival. From Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 December 2025, this much-loved event will transform the Plaza de la Vendimia into a hub of flavour, music and fiesta spirit. The four-day celebration promises a packed programme showcasing the best of local produce, Moscatel wines and Andalusian cuisine. Visitors can look forward to wine tastings, live cooking shows, children’s workshops and artisan food stalls filled with regional specialities. This ninth annual event is also expected to feature more exhibitors than ever, reflecting the festival’s growing popularity. The newly released programme includes Thursday’s opening night with the official Christmas light switch on and wine tasting, Friday’s local wine competition and public tasting, and Saturday’s cooking demonstrations and family entertainment. On Sunday, the festival closes with a vineyard and spring walking tour, a charity jamón-cutting contest and live music. Traditional tortas fritas with chocolate and a party atmosphere will round off the event on a sweet note. Saborea Manilva was created to promote the area’s authentic gastronomy and attract visitors beyond the summer months. Today it stands as one of the Costa del Sol’s key winter events, promoting local food, culture and tourism. Organised by the town hall, this years´ programme brings even more entertainment for all ages. Several children’s creative workshops are scheduled, along with visits from Disney characters for the younger audience. Live music and dance will be on offer throughout the weekend with performers including Compás Flamenco, Malamanera and La Mala Hora, alongside DJ sets by Alba Dried and DJ Pájaro. ‘Zambomba’-style flamenco drumming and festive folk groups from the area will bring the final evening alive, making the festival as much about Spanish culture as it is about fine food and wine. A full programme can be found on the Ayuntamiento de Manilva website.
