Rylan Clark has had 'loads of messages' as he shares update on mum Linda

Rylan Clark has revealed that he's been inundated with "loads of messages" from worried fans after they read a "fake" news story about his mum, Linda. The 37-year-old, who often shares the limelight with Linda on Celebrity Gogglebox and chats to her on his BBC Radio 2 show, reassured listeners during his Saturday programme that his mum was "absolutely fine". During the show, Rylan shared that he'd received an outpouring of concern from fans who had been led to believe Linda was unwell. He clarified: "I've had a load of messages today and yesterday. My mum's absolutely fine and I think there's a fake news site on Facebook saying that my mum's not well or something. "She's fine, she's absolutely fine. She's already been playing with the wheelie bins this morning. Thank you for the lovely messages but Linda is good." Previously Rylan revealed he "would love" to do more work with Linda but says she is "not well enough". Linda has severe Crohn's disease, which has no cure, and in 2021 was diagnosed with skin cancer. Speaking to the Daily Star, Rylan said: "We've been offered hundreds of things. We got asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and go there. "It would be hilarious, but she's just not well enough to do it. Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we're just sat in my kitchen." Rylan recently confessed his immense pride for his mum, Linda, after she was invited to inaugurate a Christmas grotto at her local garden centre. Sharing a photo of Linda with Santa and a garden centre employee, Rylan couldn't contain his joy. In front of his millions of followers, Rylan expressed: "My mum was asked to open the Christmas grotto at our local garden centre where she goes all the time and genuinely I've never been more proud." He then exclaimed: "LOOK AT HER!" followed by three heart emojis, prompting a flurry of comments. BBC Radio 2 colleague and Ru Paul's Drag Race star Michelle Visage responded: "I LOVE YOU LINDA! Look at that pride! ! ! !" The Only Way is Essex's Amy Childs added: "We love you Linda." Strictly 2024 contestant and actress Sarah Hadland chimed in: "I'm with her - it's a big moment and also the discounts she can now look forward to." Capital FM's Sonny Jay enthused: "So cute." Speaking to the Radio Times about his trip to India with friend and fellow TV personality Rob Rinder for their second BBC Radio 2 series, which delves into topics like death and mortality, Rylan revealed it hadn't made him contemplate his own health, but rather his mother's. He admitted: "I'm more worried about losing my mum than losing my own life. I feel like coming back from Varanassi was eye-opening. It made me realise I've just got to enjoy things I'm doing, and if I'm not enjoying it, then don't f***ing do it."
