Rylan Clark declares 'thank you' as he's flooded with support amid BBC travel show

Rylan Clark found himself with lots of support from viewers and friends alike as his new BBC travel show with Rob Rinder aired. Judge Rinder and Rylan Clark joined forces last year for their own BBC Two show, Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour. The three-part series saw them visit some of Italy’s greatest art treasures in destinations such as Venice, Florence and Rome as they followed in the footsteps of 19th-century romantic poet Lord Byron and other Grand Tourists. Due to the popularity of their show, Rob and Rylan travelled to India last year to film the next few episodes. The three-part BBC Two series retraces the footsteps of Rinder’s favourite novelist, E.M. Forster, who a century ago wrote the celebrated A Passage To India. In Rob And Rylan’s Passage To India, the duo journey through Delhi, Rajasthan, known as the Land of Kings, and Varanasi, often regarded as the spiritual heart of the country. Their travels begin in Delhi, India’s capital and home to 34 million people, where they dive into the bustling street market of Chandni Chowk, echoing Forster’s own path, before visiting Humayun’s Tomb, a 16th-century architectural masterpiece that later inspired the Taj Mahal. Taking to his Instagram after episode one aired, Rylan shared a snap of himself and Rob as he wrote: “Thank you to everyone who’s messaged about episode 1 of Passage to India. We hope you enjoyed Delhi as much as we did. “If you want to watch along we’ll see you again on Sunday at 9pm on BBC Two. Alternatively, all episodes now available on iPlayer x”. Rob praised his friend as he commented: “Proud to be alongside you always”. Doctor Who screenwriter Russel T Davies added: “Gorgeous show”. Fans also shared that they’ve been loving the show, as @emilygilmour.nails wrote: “Loved every second of it ! I hope you do more journeys around the world, you’re the best duo to watch !” @skyblueart7 echoed: “What a pleasure to watch you and Rob in India what a beautiful country – one place I would to visit now . Your chemistry and humour is lovely to see . Hope you do more countries – France Australia USA”. Commenting on the pairs friendship, @deb_g53 gushed: “Loved this series even more than the previous one! You two are just magic together! Travel buddies”. Reflecting on filming their journey in India, Rylan previously admitted: “When we did Grand Tour season one, we were acquaintances, but we weren’t friends. We finished that series as best friends. “A year passed, and then we went to India . We went there as best friends, and we’ve come back as best friends, luckily. To experience that with someone who is genuinely a friend, alongside our crew – who are the same people we know and love, makes us feel so lucky”.
