Ryder Cup's 'Unprecedented Demand' Drives Nearly 50% Increase in Ad Sales

NBCUniversal exclusively told ADWEEK that the United States versus Europe biennial golf event has seen “unprecedented demand” and secured a nearly 50% increase in ad sales from partners. In addition, digital inventory is driving demand, with a 90% increase in investment from 2021.
More than 50 brands will activate within this year’s event, and 30 of those brands are new to the competition. The top categories include auto, finance, telecommunications, apparel, and golf endemics.
“The power of sports at NBCUniversal is undeniable, and the 45th Ryder Cup is further proof of that as we have seen more interest from advertisers than ever before,” Peter Lazarus, evp, NBC Sports and Olympics, Advertising and Partnerships, said in a statement to ADWEEK.
