Is Tom Brady wearing too many hats at once? Apart from his role as a Las Vegas Raiders’ minority owner, he has been juggling his job as a Fox analyst, too. But that multitasking has raised doubts. And even more after he was spotted lingering at the coaches’ booth after the Raiders vs. Chargers. While the Super Bowl champ has kept his lips tight shut, veterans and experts continue to share their take on the situation.
The latest to join in on the conversation is Ryan Clark. The former NFL player questioned Brady’s choice to have two jobs. “Tom Brady can’t have it all y’all!! He’s one of the brightest football minds in the history of the game,” Clark argued.
“He knows what it looks like when he’s commentating games in the booth 1 day, & in the sitting behind Chip Kelly with head phones on the next. Whether or not it’s an advantage it just doesn’t feel right. Is he getting enough information from teams during his day job to pass along any nuggets? Hell, maybe/ maybe not. What I do know is if anyone could figure some good stuff out… he could!” he wrote on X.

Brady is one of the brilliant football minds in the league. Even at the age of 40, Brady played like he played like his was in his prime, making former coach Bill Belichick’s strategies look simple. And this is why Clark feels that the legend will be quick to figure out things if he were to find out something. Although this is an assumption.

Now, Dianna Russini also pointed out the situation, noting that she believes Brady is actively engaged with the team in his role as an owner. He is reportedly in constant communication with general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll.
Russini also mentioned that she attempted to reach out to Brady, but he has not responded to her questions yet. Much like Clark, NBC Sports analyst Rodney Harrison also urged Brady to make a decision, even if it’s a tough one.
Citing that broadcasters get information on injuries, roster plans, and more, he explained, “I understand that Tom’s going to take advantage of every opportunity that he gets,” Harrison said on the Football Night in America podcast. “I played 15 years in the league, but I’ve been a broadcaster for 17 years. And it’s definitely a conflict of interest because think about it—when we walk on that field, we get so much information,” he added.
Even NFL owners have not shied away from criticizing him.
NFL owner called out Tom Brady for his dual role
An anonymous NFL owner accused the former player of holding two jobs, as a Fox Sports broadcaster and a Raiders minority owner. And the owner believes that the analyst’s job will allow him to give the team an unfair edge. “They are getting an unfair advantage whether they capitalize on it or not,” the owner reportedly said. “You don’t think he’s getting info from the crew that is allowed at practice? Of course he is.”
It was his presence at the broadcast booth that sparked a fresh debate. Now, the former player has kept both his job of his $375 million Fox contract, and ownership responsibilities separate by following the strict rules laid down by the league. The league had imposed certain restrictions on the owner, barring him from attending production meetings or visiting another team’s facilities.

However, these restrictions were relaxed this season. While he is still not allowed to attend practices at other teams’ facilities, the relaxations now allow him to attend the production meetings virtually. A rival general manager had similar concerns to the NFL owner and said, “He’s one of the most shrewd quarterbacks to ever play football. Of course he’s going to soak up everything he can to give the Raiders an edge.”
While the debate isn’t ending anytime soon, eyes will be on Brady’s involvement with the Raiders as well as such incidents.
