Russell Wilson's Top Weapons Receive Positive Practice News

The New York Giants are looking to pick up their first win of the 2025 season as they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 2.The offense really struggled in the opener against the Washington Commanders, as the team mustered up only 231 yards of offense in the 21-6 loss. Quarterback Russell Wilson finished only 17-of-37 for 168 yards.Wide receiver Malik Nabers had five catches for 71 yards, while Wandale Robinson had six catches for 55 yards. They were the only two players with more than two catches or 14 yards. Both of them have been dealing with injuries that have kept them out or limited in practice. Nabers has been dealing with a back issue, while Robinson is dealing with an ankle injury. However, the Giants got some good news on Thursday as both of those players were back at practice.Having both of those guys back at practice is imperative for the Giants as they head into Week 2. As much of a struggle as it was last week, Nabers and Robinson were the only two threats the Commanders had to worry about. For the Giants to get anything going on offense, they are also going to have to get the running game going. Last week against the Commanders, they rushed the ball 23 times for only 74 yards. The majority of the yards came from Wilson scrambling, as he carried the ball eight times for 44 yards.Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. had 10 carries for only 24 yards. Getting the ground game going is only going to open up even more opportunities for guys like Nabers and RobinsonIn the matchup against the Cowboys, there could be an opportunity for Robinson to have another big game. Star defensive back Daron Bland is expected to miss a couple weeks due to an injury. The Cowboys other starting cornerback Trevon Diggs figures to guard Nabers for much of the game, leaving Robinson with a potentially favorable matchup. It is only Week 2, but the pressure is already on the Giants offense to step it up and play much better. Fans and the NFL media are already starting to wonder if the Giants should consider going to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. The Giants have been steady with their plan for Dart, as coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka have experience dealing with rookie quarterbacks.Kafka was in Kansas City during Patrick Mahomes rookie year, while Daboll was with Josh Allen in Buffalo. If Nabers, Robinson and the offense can’t have a better game against the Cowboys, then the talks are only going to get louder in New York. For more on the New York Giants and the NFL, visit Newsweek Sports.
