Ex-Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck has hailed Ruben Amorim's team as the "best United side we have faced in a while" following their third consecutive victory, this time against Brighton. The Red Devils are gathering steam, achieving three Premier League wins in a row for the first time since February 2024. Despite facing criticism and rumours of job insecurity, Amorim watched his team triumph over the Seagulls with a 4-2 scoreline. Brighton managed to secure a win at Old Trafford last season, but found themselves trailing 3-0 before a late comeback attempt, only to concede the final goal of the match. This means that United have successfully built on their impressive victory over Liverpool just over a week ago. Welbeck, who has previously found success against his old club and scored again in this match, was particularly impressed by United's organisation - an area that has been highlighted as a problem in the past - and also praised their ruthlessness after they 'punished' his side. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It is the best [ Manchester United ] side we have faced in a while. They were really organised and structure, they always have incredible players and today they really punished our mistakes. "A difficult game but one we can look back and analyse. I do believe we can come here and get the three points." Amorim has remained steadfast in his beliefs and system, frequently asserting that their defeats are not due to the formation and tactics he uses. The United manager has shown no inclination to change, despite not all players being able to execute his strategy. Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes continue to form a midfield partnership, which has been exploited by some rivals this season, but the pair managed to secure another three points for United at the weekend. This victory moved them above Liverpool and level on points with Manchester City . Three of United's four goals were scored by summer signings, with Matheus Cunha opening the scoring and Bryan Mbeumo notching a brace. It's for that reason, Amorim believes that his United side is starting to reflect his vision. He said: "I think they are more confident. I think the best game that we did this season was against Arsenal , was the first one. "But then, when you are a little bit more confident, when you have a different spirit, sometimes you have a little bit [of] luck in certain moments of the game that help you to win games."
