Ruben Amorim responds to Sean Dyche's criticism of Manchester United

Ruben Amorim understands Sean Dyche's criticism of Manchester United when he was out of work as a manager. "I may get hammered for it, but I bet I could win more games with that squad playing a 4-4-2," said Dyche during an appearance on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast in August. Dyche was sacked by Everton last season and gave his opinion on United's plight while out of work, which Amorim responded to when he was asked about the criticism of his system. "First of all, maybe it's true if we play 4-4-2," he smiled. "We won more games, but I always said that I have a way of playing that is going to take a while, but in the future it's going to be better. So we don't know that. Then I can look at Sean Dyche as a manager and then as a pundit. "If you are a pundit and you don't say very strong things, I don't want to watch you! I'm the same. So I can understand that it's a completely different job. I know that Sean Dyche is really smart and he knows how to play the game. "And he also understands that one thing is when we are seeing the game and talking about the game, the other thing is to coach a team. So I understand that, I have nothing to say, I just want to win the next game." Dyche has returned to management with Nottingham Forest after a nine-month spell out of work. "More or less," said Amorim about knowing what to expect from Dyche. "I watched the last game, it was one of the first ones here that we won [Everton at Old Trafford ], we were so lucky in that game. "The result shouldn't have been that result. I watched [Forest] against Porto, I watched against Bournemouth, the style of play is similar, with different characteristics. "I watched one game that we did during pre-season with Sporting, so to try to understand how he played in that game. It's similar, he can change some characteristics of the players with the talent that they have, especially with Gibbs-White, Anderson, Hudson-Odoi, very good players. "So we need to be prepared for a different game against Brighton. We had space to play. We are not going to have that space. You need to understand that we are not being the same team away and at home. "So we need to improve the way we control the environment. Every tackle is a big moment for the opponent's fans, so we need to play better away. We are prepared for a very tough match." --- Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
