Ruben Amorim exit 'inevitable' as Man Utd sack date predicted by Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher reckons Manchester United dismissing Ruben Amorim is “inevitable” and believes he will have been axed from his position before Christmas . Despite securing a third victory of the campaign on Saturday, the major issues persist at Old Trafford . Amorim is approaching his first anniversary as manager in Manchester, though there’s been precious little to celebrate. Since his appointment, United have recorded one of the poorest records in the Premier League , culminating in their most dismal campaign last term. This season, despite benefiting from a complete pre-season and over £200million worth of fresh talent arriving, minimal progress has been made and Amorim’s approach continues to yield no positive outcomes. The Portuguese manager remains committed to his 3-4-3 system, which has persistently created difficulties for the squad. The United leadership have stated they support Amorim and believe he merits a full season to demonstrate his capabilities with the side, yet Carragher maintains the former Sporting Lisbon chief won’t survive until December 25. The Sky Sports analyst commented on The Overlap Fan Debate : “I don’t like saying a manager should be sacked – it’s disrespectful and it’s a man’s job – but I’m at that point where I do think Ruben Amorim’s job is untenable. It’s inevitable that this is going to happen before Christmas. “His stats are unbelievable for a Manchester United manager – 50 games as Manchester United manager, he’s only scored two more goals than he’s conceded.” Throughout those 50 fixtures at the helm, he has failed to secure consecutive Premier League victories, highlighting his difficulties. The previous campaign’s Europa League final defeat – along with the display – represented another setback for Amorim. This term alone, United have suffered losses to Arsenal, Manchester City and Burnley, while they were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by League Two side Grimsby in what constituted an unprecedented low point. Carragher’s assessment received support from United icon Paul Scholes, who argued the manager has already exceeded his honeymoon period considering the duration of poor results. “I feel like with Ruben Amorim it’s got to the point where we don’t want to talk about sacking managers all the time and Manchester United do give managers enough time,” he said. “He’ll never get booed by the fans and it wasn’t until that Brentford game [where they lost 3-1] where I thought, ‘He’s getting a little bit too much time’ and it feels like it’s only a matter of time before things come to an end.”
