Meanwhile, during his daily press briefings at the Capitol, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has taken to speaking from a podium with a sign on it that reads "The Democrat Shutdown." Johnson was joined on Friday by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins. A journalist in the room asked Rollins, "What do you say to the millions of people who stand to lose their food stamp benefits? What should they do?" Rollins responds, "My message to America is first the fact that your government is failing you right now."
