Rohit Roy, Thakur Anoop Singh's Cyber Crime Thriller Controll To Release In October

Cyber frauds, data leaks, and online scams have become everyday realities in an increasingly digital world. Reflecting this alarming trend, the upcoming film Controll is set to bring the subject to the big screen with a gripping narrative. Starring Rohit Roy and Thakur Anoop Singh, the cyber-crime thriller promises to shed light on the vulnerabilities that come with living in the age of technology. The film, inspired by real incidents, is slated for a theatrical release on October 10, 2025.
The thriller is helmed by director Safdar Abaas and produced by Dhaval Gada and Abhay Sinha. It is presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, a banner known for championing impactful narratives.
Joining Singh and Roy on screen is a strong supporting cast that includes Priya Anand, Yashpal Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Karan Singh Chhabra, Siddharth Banerjee, and others. To set the stage for its release, the makers revealed the official poster today, while the trailer is scheduled to drop tomorrow.
The film carries the striking tagline: “Your Data is Their Weapon.”
Lead actor Thakur Anoop Singh, who plays an Army officer for the first time in his career, spoke about the unique appeal of his character. “The word ‘Control’ signifies power in our film. It’s a title that signifies the consequences of misusing the power. My character is a perfect blend of being the eldest son of the house who’s vulnerable, caring yet fierce to take on anyone being a threat to his family. The complexity of the character is what makes it unique and special for me to play. Also, people have never seen me play an Army officer before. This will be a first!”
Meanwhile, Rohit Bose Roy is an Indian actor renowned for his work across television and film. He gained widespread recognition for his performances in popular Hindi TV serials, including Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand on Star Plus and Swabhimaan on DD National.
In addition to his television career, Roy has appeared in several notable Bollywood films such as Kaabil, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, Apartment, and Plan. He also played the role of Fattu, a gang member, in the crime drama Shootout at Lokhandwala.
Expanding his creative pursuits, Roy directed the short film Rice Plate, which was part of the anthology Dus Kahaniyaan. In 2020, he ventured into fashion by launching his own brand, Rohit Roy for Styched, in collaboration with Styched Life.
