Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Monday said Hyderabad has emerged as a preferred destination for global companies on the back of its strong infrastructure, industry-friendly policies and a talent-rich ecosystem. The combination of top-tier talent, startup culture and industry–academia collaboration makes Hyderabad the perfect place for growth of companies, he said after inaugurating with IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu the U.S. investment management firm Vanguard’s Global Value Centre in the city. Assuring Telangana government’s support to Vanguard, he invited the firm to explore collaboration with educational institutions, research centres and innovation hubs in the State. “By working together, we can create solutions that serve not just global markets, but also contribute to the development of local communities,” he said. He urged the Vanguard leadership to consider acquiring space in Bharat Future City, the futuristic city the State government plans to develop in Hyderabad, and build the company’s own campus there, the Deputy CM’s office said. Addressing the gathering, Mr.Sridhar Babu said Telangana is pursuing an ambitious goal of playing host to an additional 120 global capability centres (GCCs) by next year. The new facilities are expected to generate nearly 1.2 lakh jobs, he said, adding despite challenging global market conditions and a complex geopolitical landscape the State was able to successfully anchor more than 70 GCCs last year. The decision of Vanguard, which is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, to choose Hyderabad for its GVC reflects the city’s talent, stability and global competitiveness, the Minister’s office said in a release. Mr.Sridhar Babu said Telangana government is not merely attracting investments, but also preparing local youth for future-ready employment. “To ensure our youth benefit from these jobs, we will provide skilling, reskilling and upskilling in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cloud Engineering and Cybersecurity,” he said. With Vanguard, seven of the world’s top asset management firms that collectively manage over $30 trillion in assets have operations in Hyderabad reaffirming the city’s position as a global command centre for financial innovation and technology. The new Vanguard centre will focus on engineering excellence, cloud modernisation, AI-led solutions, data security and global digital platforms. “We encourage international industry leaders to be partners in the story of Rising Telangana,” the Minister said, inviting more global firms to invest in the State. Global Chief Information Officer at Vanguard Nitin Tandon said Hyderabad represents a thriving technology ecosystem with talent and ambition. Head of Vanguard India Venkatesh Natarajan the new office will create technology capabilities that are innovative, scalable and meaningful for investors everywhere. A leadeship team of the firm had earlier this year met Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy and announced plans for the facility.
