Robert Irwin couldn’t get through 'DWTS’ if it weren’t for sister Bindi rooting him on

Robert Irwin found himself at the top of the leader board after the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 34 premiere on Tuesday.
Robert Irwin’s inaugural dance on the reality competition show was one for the books! Judge Derek Hough dubbed it as the “best first dance in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ history.” Our entertainment reporter, Courtney Tezeno caught up with the wildlife conservationist and his dancing partner Whitney Carson right as they got off the ballroom floor.
Irwin says he’s “still feelin’ wild!” and wants “to bring a message of not only wildlife conservation but hopefully a message of positivity [] and bring that to the ballroom, to bring that onto the dancefloor, I feel so, so grateful to be here and above anything, this is just a bloody lot of fun!”Irwin’s sister, Bindi, who won season 21 of ‘DWTS,’ was in the audience to root her brother on and Robert explains how much it helps having his family’s support.
“It’s this feeling of warmth and security to have your family unit there when the pressures on. I think you just look up into the crowd, I looked at Bindi and there’s just like this unspoken thing siblings have, you just sort of look at each other and are like ‘we’re good. We got this. Let’s go’ and I’m so happy they’re here, I love my family so much.”
As for how they’re going to top themselves next week, Carson reveals their plan – “Every style is a challenge because, you know, Robert doesn’t have any dance experience so he’s really learning from ground zero. So every single week is going to be a challenge in itself. So we’ll just try to keep going and getting on the leader board.”
