This is the most basic Ring doorbell, with a built-in battery and all the features you would expect from a video doorbell — things like live video, two-way communication and motion alerts in the Ring app. It comes in this battery-powered version or a wired model.
I would recommend this model over the base version for most people, especially at this price. It has improved video quality, a more easily removable battery pack and comes with an additional mounting kit for attaching to corners.
As with all Ring cameras, you can view a live feed and change your settings in the Ring app, but features like video history and package alerts require a Ring subscription.
The main reason to upgrade to the Pro model is for improved motion detection: it uses 3D motion detection with more configurable zones in the Ring app. It also has improved video quality in low light and dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity.
The wired version of the Ring Doorbell Pro is also at its lowest price ever right now. The wired version uses your existing doorbell wiring and doorbell chime, plus you never need to worry about charging it (like with the battery-powered doorbells).
